The secret's out...

You may have noticed that I have been a bit quiet over the past few days. You may not have noticed. You may have thought it was a great thing. Whatever you thought – I’m now going to confess why. And let you all in one the little secret I promised to divulge this month.

I can’t say how much I love blogging. I feel as though I have made some friends through The Wiener Takes It All – receiving comments and emails is the best thing ever. In my day job, I’m deputy editor of a magazine, and in this environment it is very rare to get positive feedback. People just don’t have the time. But you all made the time to get in touch with me and say lovely things – and checking my email after I’ve posted a blog is now something I look forward to every day.

I have realised that there is a real community of people out there who love dogs. Who love reading blogs about our furry friends. And seeing funny pictures. And looking at dog products. And watching funny dog videos. And I realised that there aren’t many websites out there where you can see these things at once. A lot of dog related websites are quite old fashioned and lack a bit of spark.

And I thought this was a shame.

I thought it was so much of a shame that I decided to do something about it.

So I set up a website.

A website dedicated to everything that dog owners will love. Everything I love – that I think you will love too. Some friends and fellow bloggers I have gotten to know have agreed to write for the site – and you’re all in for a treat, because they are fab writers. And in addition to blogs, I will be putting up lots of different things, to give you a daily dose of dog goodness every day.

I really hope you all like it – your opinions have come to mean a lot to me. It is still a ‘work in progress’, but hopefully I have posted enough now to give you a flavour of what it will be like. I really want to create a little community where we can all come together and talk about our favourite thing; our dogs. So please – if you could tell your friends, blog about it, put a link on Facebook, anything you see fit – it would mean a lot.

Please get in touch if you think of anything you think should be on the site. Send me pictures of your dogs (best thing ever) so they can have a slice of the spotlight. And if anyone out there would like to write something for the site, or have a post they think I should use, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to get as many people involved as possible.

And finally, an important note: I will still be blogging about Mort – so don’t panic! He has got used to a certain level of fame – I’m not sure what would happen if I took it away from him. The blog will continue – in fact, I will probably be writing more.
